Military Medal 'Near MORLANCOURT, South West of ALBERT on the night of 28th/29th and 29/30th July 1918, Private LAMBERT was engaged in digging a Communication Trench to a captured position immediately following an attack. he worked throughout at an exposed end of the trench through very heavy shell and machine gun fire. He was conspicuous, not only by his courage and disregard of personal danger, but by the great amount of work he himself did, and in the assistance he rendered his comrades. He was a splendid example to the rest of the men and materially assisted in the completion of the tasks on both nights.'
