Military Medal 'On night of May 5th during an intense bombardment of the Trenches near Bois Grenier, France, this stretcher-bearer, despite the fact that his Sergeant was killed, and he seriously wounded, continued his duties until all the wounded had been attended to and evacuated to hospital. His inspiring example was directly responsible for the excellent work of the stretcher-bearers on this occasion.'
