Military Medal 'Near STRAZEELE Railway Station East of HAZEBROUCK on night of 12/13 June 1918 during successful attack on enemy positions Private LYTHGO (a platoon runner of diminutive size) displayed great coolness and gallantry under enemy fire during the progress of the attack. Under heavy Machine Gun fire he carried important messages from his platoon commander to Company Headquarters, and did valuable work bandaging and carrying wounded back to Company Headquarters.'
