War service: Egypt, Western Front Discharged to duty from 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 18 December 1915 (no further details recorded). Allotted to and proceeded to join 50th Bn, 29 February 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 5 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 12 June 1916. Wounded in action, 26 September 1917 (shrapnel wound, thigh), and admitted to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 18th General Hospital, Camiers, 27 September 1917; to 6th Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 20 October 1917; to 4th Australian Division Base Depot, Etaples, 24 October 1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 11 December 1917.
