Distinguished Conduct Medal 'During the advance on Reincourt, on 10 August, 1918, he went forward with an enemy light gun and silenced the enemy machine guns, which were inflicting heavy casualties in our ranks. Later, he again went forward with a light gun and annihilated a party of the enemy who were preparing for a counter attack.'
