Military Medal

'All of these men [4628 J.A. MUNDT, 3869 T.J. MARTIN, 3451 F.M. PEARSON] were Headquarters runners. They all did exceptional work under most trying circumstances during operations from 7th to 9th of June, acting as runners and guides through very heavy shelling over great distances with rare courage eagerness and cheerfulness. When all other communications were cut and enemy fire was exceptionally heavy it was through the work of these men that communications between front line, Battalion Headquarters and back to Brigade Headquarters were maintained.'
