Admitted to 26th Stationary Hospital, Ismailia, 10 April 1917 (gastritis); discharged from hospital and marched in to Details Camp, 16 April 1917.

Taken on strength of 4th Light Horse Training Regiment, 6 May 1917; proceeded to join Eastern Expeditionary Force, 7 November 1917.

Found guilty, Jaffa, 15 April 1918, of being in Jaffa without permission at 5:00 pm, 13 April 1918: awarded forfeiture of 4 days' pay.

Found guilty, 18 June 1918, of (1) being absent without leave from 4:30 pm, 16 June to 10:00am, 18 June 1918 and (2) failing to report to Commanding Officer when requested to do so at 2:30, 16 June 1918: awarded 21 days' Field Punishment No 2 and forfeited 23 days' pay.

Admitted to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, Moascar, 5 July 1918 (venereal disease: total period of treatment, 40 days); discharged from hospital, 13 August 1918.

Rejoined unit in the field, 23 August 1918; detached to Brigade Headquarters, 27 October 1918; marched in to Brigade Headquarters, 26 November 1918.
