Admitted to 7th Australian Field Ambulance, 26 May 1918 (accidental injury: gun shot wound, lacerated right knee), and transferred to 20th Casualty Clearing Station; to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 31 May 1918; to England, 3 June 1918, and admitted to War Hospital, Croydon; transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 12 July 1918; discharged to No 3 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 17 July 1919.
