Military Medal 'This man took part in the charge on the HINDENBURG Line in front of REINCOURT on the morning of the 11th April 1917. When held up by the slow advance of the "Tank" supporting the attack he took his Lewis gun forward and opened fire on the enemy Machine Gun which was causing serious losses amongst our men and succeeded in so disconnecting the enemy that for the time being the effect of his fire was nullified. Subsequently when the objective was obtained he displayed great daring in advancing with his Lewis gun up enemy saps and scored many casualties amongst enemy bombers.
