Military Medal

'On the morning of September 1st 1918 near MONT ST QUENTIN north of PERONNE this N.C.O. was in charge of the Ambulance Bearers attached to the 24th Battalion A.I.F. During a heavy bombardment by the enemy in the vicinity of the Regimental Aid Post an enemy shell wounded some men at a distance of about 200 yards form the post. Sergeant NUNAN immediately went to the assistance of these men through heavy fire and after dressing them, carried them to a safer position near the Aid Post. His coolness and courage were a fine example to all.'
