Meritorious Service Medal 'For great gallantry and devotion to duty. He has been electrician since May 1916 to plants at Kemmel Mines, Vimy Ridge and Nuinport. His work at all times has taken him out under shell fire to repair Electric Cables in the forward trenches and by his untiring devotion to duty constant service has been maintained he remaining into the line on duty during long periods when the cutting of cable by shell fire has been most acute.'
