Military Medal 'During the operations in front of LAGNICOURT on the 15th April, Sergeant PATERSON did excellent work in leading a patrol which had been sent out to link up with the company on his left. He successfully connected up despite strong opposition fromt he enemy which PATERSON met with great dash and fearlessness. At times the left flank of his company was threatened to be overcome by the enemy and it was due to this N.C.O.'s actions and courageous behaviour that the company was able to continue the advance.'
