Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty whilst acting as C.Q.M.S. during operations 30th August - 5th September 1918. On night 2nd/3rd September 1918 on road West of LE QUINEONC WOOD near PERONNE the Ration Dump was being heavily shelled this soldier went to the dump and succeeded in delivering rations to his company. Throughout the whole operations this soldier showed the greatest coolness and utter regard of personal safety.'
