Other details | Service at Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt and in France (arrived 20 June 1916). Severely wounded at Flerbaix, 19 July 1916. After lying wounded on the battlefield for four days was taken prisoner of war and invalided to Heuboridan Hospital, thence to Douai where his leg was amputated. Repatriated to England 20 January 1918 and returned to Australia. |
