At all times he was to the fore when enemy showed fight, and on one particular occasion when a hostile post was encountered he dashed forward, bombed the post and enabled the platoon to continue the advance. By his fine display of courage and the magnificent example he set, he inspired the remainder of the platoon, and his behaviour is worthy of recognition.'
