Military Medal 'At POZIERES, FRANCE, on the early morning of the 19th. August 1916, while carrying wounded from the R.M.O. of the 6th Battalion, Pte. ROSS and his squad were repeatedly buried by shell explosions, despite this and the fact that some of his stretcher squad were severely shaken, Pte. ROSS continued to organise and lead stretcher bearers in the collection of wounded.'
