Proceeded overseas to France, 5 April 1917; taken on strength, 10th Bn, in the field, 10 April 1917.

Wounded in action, 5 May 1917 (gun shot wound, right arm, left leg), and admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, and transferred to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance train No 28, 10 May 1917, and admitted to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne, 11 May 1917.

Died of wounds, 12 May 1917.
