Military Medal 'On 2nd September, 1918, near CLERY-sur-SOMME, this Non Commissioned Officer was in charge of first line wagons supplying ammunition to the battery position. Both the position, and the point at which the ammunition was being loaded were being heavily shelled, as also was the road along which he had to pass, but despite this shelling, Corporal SHEERS, by great perseverance, coolness and resource, succeeded in getting the ammunition to the Battery. His conduct and general bearing, his disregard for personal safety and devotion to duty set a fine example to all.'
