Military Medal 'During the attack near HARBONNIERES, East of AMIENS, on the 9th, 10th and 11th August 1918, Private SHELTON was stationed at the Brigade Forward Station. he repeatedly showed great personal bravery by mending telephone lines under heavy enemy shell fire, and assisted materially in maintaining communication to Battalions. During the attack on the morning of September 2nd 1918, East of MONT ST. QUENTIN near PERONNE, Private SHELTON, who was a linesman at one of the relay posts, set out as soon as the enemy opened fire, and travelled through the barrage time and again, mending lines. By his great personal bravery and devotion to duty, he showed a fine example, and was largely instrumental in maintaining communication between Brigade Headquarters and the Brigade Forward Station.'
