Military Medal 'For an act of coolness and initiative involving very considerable personal risk on the night of 10th August, 1918 at MORCOURT, when the Battery was being shelled. An ammunition dump was set alight and he immediately set to work alone to scatter the charges which were flaring up in all directions, and succeeded in saving a considerable amount of ammunition and damage to one of the guns.'
