'For consistently good work and devotion to duty as a Stretcher Bearer from 25th February to 16th September, 1918. In the operations forward of VILLERS BRETONNEUX in August, regardless of danger, he carried wounded through heavy barrages from the front line and by his courae and disregard of danger saved many lives.'
