War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 30 August 1915. Disembarked Alexandria from Mudros, 27 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Taken on strength, 60th Bn, Ferry Post, 4 April 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Reported Missing, 19 July 1916. Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 4 August 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'. Red Cross File No 500206 has statement from searcher/interviewe D.P. DICKSON, 7 November 1916 ('I forgot to put down name of Informant'): [BRADLEY] Was killed by a shell at Fleurbaix about 3.30 p.m. Was in a dug-out and it was blown up.
