Military Medal

'For gallantry and leadership at METEREN on the 23rd April, 1918. Sergeant TIMOTHY led his platoon with great dash and initiative in the attack on an enemy line under heavy fire. He then took a section forward and captured a small post and held same protecting the right flank of his platoon during consolidation. On 24th April he showed great coolness and courage in directin the fire of his men during a counter-attack, which was successfully repulsed with gret loss to the enemy.'
