Military Medal 'During the attack on the 4th July, 1918 near VILLERS BRETONNEUX this N.C.O. took charge after his officer had been wounded. When the line was momentarily checked by an enemy Machine Gun Sergeant TURNBULL rallied the men and took them forward. His party annihiliated the enemy gun crew. Again when a small party of the enemy were establishing themselves in a post near our advanced line, this N.C.O. rushed forward alone and bombed them into the open where they were effectively dealt with.'
