Meritorious Service Medal 'During period September 22nd 1917 to 24th February 1918 this N.C.O. Has consistently performed his duties in a most praiseworthy and conscientious manner. The keen personal interest and the energetic he has always carried out his work has not only been an example to the N.C.O.s and men of the Battery but has also earned for him the confidence of his Officers. During the extreme weather experienced whilst the Division was at PERONNE, Sergeant VAUGHAN carried out his work, under extremely trying and severe conditions, in a manner worthy of the highest Commendation.'
