Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and resource at Peronne on 1 September, 1918. During the attack an enemy field gun was captured, with a large supply of ammunition. This man helped another to work the gun, and brought fire to bear on a quarry where the enemy were assembling and inflicted severe casualties.'
