Proceeded overseas to France, 9 February 1917; taken on strength, No 2 Company, Australian Army Service Corps, 1 March 1917.

Found guilty, England, 19 September 1917, of (1) being absent without leave from 0600, 15 September, to 0600, 17 September 1917; (2) making a false statement to a senior NCO: awarded 7 days' forfeiture of pay, and 3 days' forfeiture of pay under Royal Warrant.

Admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, 3 January 1918 (hernia); discharged to duty, and rejoined unit, in the field, 8 January 1918.

Transferred to 4th Motor Transport Company, 12 March 1918.

Admitted to 13th Field Ambulance, 19 February 1919 (influenza); transferred to 53rd Casualty Clearing Station, 21 February 1919; to 48th Casualty Clearing Station, 28 February 1919; to 53rd General Hospital, 4 March 1919; to England, 12 March 1919, and admitted to Fulham Military Hospital; transferred to 1st Australian General Hospital, 28 March 1919; discharged to No Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 4 April 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Prinz Ludwig', 9 July 1919; disembarked Sydney, 8 September 1919; discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Sydney, 22 December 1919.
