Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack West of BELLENGLISE on the 18th September, 1918. As Platoon Scout he went forward and found gaps in the wire for his platoon to pass through. When enemy dugouts ere reached he was always first on the spot and prevented the enemy putting up any defence. His courage and coolness were remarkable through out the action.'
