Admitted to Hospital Ship, HS 'Gascon', 28 August 1915 (diarrhoea); disembarked Alexandria, Egypt, and admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 1 September 1915; transferred to Convalescent Camp, Helouan, 9 September 1915; declared fit for active service, 15 October 1915. Proceeded to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force from 1st Training Bn, Zeitoun, 21 October 1915.
