Military Medal 'During our operations against the BLUE Line on the morning of 12th August 1918 Corporal DRYSDALE was in charge of a section of bombers who volunteered to clear the Germans from about 200 yards of trench that was menacing the Left flank of our centre Company. At the head of his party he worked down the trench, bombing the enemy back, in spite of the enemy's stubborn resistance and the fact that they were enfilading the trench with Machine Gun fire. He frequently exposed himself to direct the bomb throwing and as a result of his tenacity and skilful leadership the enemy eventually gave way thus gained and one light and one heavy machine gun were captured. This enabled our Left and Centre companies to link up. Throughout the 10th, 11th and 12th instants Corporal DRYSDALE did consistently good work setting a splendid example to his men and materially assisting our progress. He was severely wounded on the 13th August 1918.'
