Proceeded to France through Southampton, 30 August 1917; marched into 1st Australian Divisional Base Depot, Havre, 31 August 1917; moved out to unit, 6 September 1917; taken on strength of 11th Bn, 11 September 1917.

Admitted to 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, 22 January 1918 (trench feet); transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 22 January 1918; transferred to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 23 January 1918; to Ambulance Train, 25 January 1918; admitted to 54th General Hospital, 28 January 1918. Embarked HS 'Jan Breydel' for England, 5 February 1918; admitted to Essex County Military Hospital, Colchester, 6 February 1918; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 21 May 1918; discharged to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 13 June 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on HT 'Boonah', 21 July 1918; disembarked Fremantle, 11 September 1918. Discharged as being medically unfit for continued service, 27 September 1918.
