Military Medal 'During the attack on BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4/5th October, 1917, this N.C.O., one of the Regimental Stretcher Bearers, worked continuously under very heavy shell fire dressing wounded and carying them to aid post. His devotion to duty throughout the operation was a splendid example to others and entirely beyond praise.'
