Military Medal 'During March last, at PEACE RIVER DUMP, this man acted as Section Commander. The Camp was shelled daily at this time, and private GOLDING showed considerable initiative in moving his Section to a place of safety, his bearing throughout setting a splendid example to all ranks. On the return of his Section Commander he resumed hid duties as Runner to his platoon, and, in carrying out his duties, he made daily reconnaissances of forward works in the VILLERS BRETONNEUX area. On many occasions he was subjected to heavy Machine gun and shell fire, but, despite all difficulties, he supplied daily valuable information regarding the progress of various works. on one occasion casualties were caused by shell fire and the party became disorganised owing to casualties amongst N.C.O.s. Private GOLDING immediately filled the breach and re-organised the party. During the whole of this period his conduct has been highly meritorious and his courage has provoked the admiration of all ranks and set an inspiring example.'
